The bulging sides at the beltline and tucking in at the rocker panels make it look like an airplane fuselage. It made the gigantic car even wider and longer. Which the 73 Imperial was the largest production car that is not a limousine. A total of 15,796 Imperials were built for the model year 1972 and these cars were used by the US Secret Service which then turned them over to Hess and Eisenhardt, which converted them into limos for Presidential use.
