This 1958 Chevrolet Impala Convertible is a gorgeous ragtop with wonderful options and a fantastic 50s look! 1958 was a major turning point in the American automobile industry. Faced with an impending economic downturn, the American auto-makers continued to release vehicles with groundbreaking designs and iconic looks. Initially debuting in 1958 as an option package for Chevrolet's top-of-the-line Bel Air, the Impala was considered the top trim level for the Bel Air and it wasn't until the following year that the Impala was spun off to be its own standalone model. In 1958, Chevrolet had completely redesigned the look for all of its passenger cars, from the entry-level Del Ray to its brand-new top-of-the-line Impala. "Lower, wider, [and] longer" was how the GM marque touted its new design in its 1958 marketing materials.
