More Details
By 1971, Ford's Mustang was as stout as it would get in size. Hollywood capitalized on this and car-driven movies such as "Two-Lane Blacktop," "Vanishing Point," "American Graffiti," "Dirty Mary - Crazy Larry," and "Bullitt." The penultimate of these films was "Gone in 60 Seconds." Not the modern version but the 1974 original with H.B. Halicki and its record-breaking, 40-minute car chase. Here we have a 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I SportsRoof. This example was made in Ford's Dearborn, Michigan factory (code F) in July of 1971 and shipped to the San Jose, California sales district, (code 72). Finished in Grabber Lime Green (code I) with black trim.
