This 1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner is gorgeous 50s cruiser with tasteful performance upgrades and was the beneficiary of a frame off restoration. In 1958, American car sales took a bit of a dip due to the economic recession at the time. Likewise, experts had predicted that American preferences would begin shifting away from large, full-size cars to smaller more economy-focused automobiles such as the Rambler and Studebaker Lark. Nonetheless, the Ford Motor Company re-vamped the styling across its entire passenger car line. Sporting new front ends with totally redesigned hoods complete with a faux scoop, new-look "Honeycomb" grilles, new fender-mounted "Gun-Sight" ornaments, and updated parking lights and bumpers, the '58 Fords had a new, more futuristic appearance.
