This 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is a real deal Super Sport with great options! Heading into the 1964 model year, Chevrolet seemed to be missing mid-size vehicle in their passenger car lineup. On one hand, the GM marque had compact cars with the Corvair and Chevy II/Nova and on the other size Chevrolet had full-size cars such as the Biscayne, Bel Air, and Impala. That gap was filled in 1964 with the introduction of the Chevelle, a car that straddled the gap between a compact and a full size. The Chevelle shared a platform with other GM mid-size models including the Pontiac Tempest, Oldsmobile F-85, and Buick Skylark. The new mid-size Chevelle line was divided into two distinct trim levels, the entry level Chevelle 300 series and plusher Chevelle Malibu Series.
