GM Chief of Styling and Design, Harley Earl, and the guys over at Buick took things to a whole new level in the mid '50s. Stylist Ned Nickels obsession with the model and making it different than other corporate lines led him to design the famous chrome Buick portholes reminiscent of the WWII era fighter aircrafts.
