Originally slated for replacement in 1967 by a completely redesigned third-generation Corvette, the fifth edition of the second-generation Sting Ray has come to be seen by many as the most fully realized of the midyear models; more than 59 years later, it's still considered one of the best ever. The 1967 Sting Ray's exterior revisions included removing all identification from the front fenders, which were further cleaned up with new smaller vents that tilted toward the front.
