Under GM's Design Director, Bill Mitchell, Chevrolet styling changed radically, with no clues to the past. Virtually nothing from the old Harley Earl era remained. For 1959 Chevrolet featured all new slimline styling with wider, roomier bodies; new front fascia and grille, seagull-wing rear fascia, and "cat's eye" taillights. The Impala is finished in two-tone Harbor Blue and Snowcrest White and exterior details include quad headlights, dual front air intakes, chrome bumpers, fender and door-mounted side mirrors, dual antennas, horizontal tail fins, teardrop taillights, and reverse indicators. The car was fully repainted.
