The third-generation Camaro brought a sharper shape and a stronger focus on handling to the 1980s. Chevrolet added the racing-inspired IROC-Z to the lineup in 1985, but this Z/28 has taken a path of its own. Its red, driver-quality finish, fiberglass cowl hood, handmade steel fender flares, Hawks front splitter, carbon fiber rear spoiler, and ultra-light carbon fiber doors make its intentions clear. Under the hood is a 406ci small-block stroker built around a Dart SHP block with a forged crank, 4340 H-beam rods, JE forged pistons, AFR aluminum heads, and a custom solid roller camshaft with COMP Cams lifters. Holley HP multiport EFI and full MSD ignition manage the combination.
