THE CAR This is a 1966 Ford Thunderbird in Silver Mink over a black vinyl interior, with a black vinyl roof. It's a 390 car with a three-speed automatic, bucket seats, a center console, and the curved rear bench that makes a mid-sixties Thunderbird interior look like nothing else Detroit was building. 1966 is the last year of the fourth-generation Thunderbird, and it's the one people who know these cars tend to want. The front end got the single-bar grille with the big center emblem, and the car still carries the long-hood, formal-roof proportions that defined the car before the four-door era changed what a Thunderbird was.
