More Details
The 1933 Ford 3-window coupe became a legendary platform for street rods and hot rods due to its radical and its aerodynamic look when properly redesigned. While its predecessor, the 1932 Ford ("Deuce Coupe"), laid the foundation for hot rodding, the 1933 model introduced a more aggressive, streamlined aesthetic that customizers fell in love with. This particular example is the first 1933 3-Window Ford Coupe manufactured by Classic Motor Carriages which is signified by the serial number R-00001. The current owner acquired it in 2015. In 2017 he had it completely rebuilt at which time it was properly repainted with a full color change. It was originally bright red but it now has a House of Color fade that goes from Metallic Red to Metallic Yellow with ghost flames all topped with 3 coats of Pearl Essence which has earned it countless Best of Paint awards at major car shows. When it was rebuilt, it was fit with a freshly rebuilt 350ci V8 that is now a 355ci V8 and boasts a mild cam and roller rockers. It has Edelbrock E Street aluminum heads and is fed by 3 Stromberg chrome 2-barrel carbs affectionally known as “Triple Deuce” set-up. You will also appreciate the chrome a/c compressor and brake booster as well as the polished alternator, valve covers and radiator which all work together to make the engine bay bling. It is sparked by an MSD electronic ignition and exhaust is handled by a set of ceramic coated headers that sound just plain nasty ripping through its Magna Flow dual performance exhaust. At the same time the engine was installed its T350 tranny was rebuilt, a shift kit was installed as well as a 2800 stall and it is all mated to a 10-bolt rear end. The current owner was so happy with the way the paint job and driveline overhaul went that he took it back to The Custom Shop in Flannigan, IL for a new show quality interior and they did not disappoint. The leather seats are on an air ride system that allow you to adjust the height with a switch, the trunk, dash, inner doors and door jambs were all painted to match the exterior and really pulls the interior together with its Alcantara headliner that tastefully holds a double din stereo and a pair of speakers. It has rear speakers with a custom mounted amp and subwoofer behind the seats and there is also a back-up camera built into to the license plate frame. It has QA1 coil over shocks up front with new air shocks on the rear, front disc brakes and a new rack and pinion steering rack that was installed this year. The exterior look is really pulled together with the tinted windows, yellow underbody lights, chrome trim and newer Chrome rims with 20’s in the rear and 17’s up front. Between what the current owner spent on this car originally and what he has invested into over the last 10 years close to 80K has been invested to make this show-stopper become his reality. He is ready for a change of pace making this beauty available for the first time since being recreated. It has been priced aggressively so if you like what you see time is of the essence!
