1979 Pontiac Trans Am White

The Firebird was built by Pontiac between 1967 and 2002. The second-generation debut for the 1970 model year was delayed until February 26, 1970 and was designated as a 1970½ model. Replacing the Coke bottle styling was a more swoopy body style, with the top of the rear window line going almost straight down to the lip of the trunk. A distinctive, slant-nose facelift occurred in 1977 and was redone again somewhat in 1979. This particular example was born in Van Nuys, CA during the 2nd week of November 1979 as a Trans Am with a 403ci V8 and was optioned in Nocturne Blue with a Blue Cloth interior. Approximately 15 years ago its original engine was replaced with a 400ci (6.6L) V8 built in Van Nuys and dated March 23, 1971 that was freshly rebuilt before it was installed. At the same time, it was changed from Nocturne Blue to Cameo White and a complete set of 5-Color Light to Dark Blue with Gold Accents decal package was added. During its make over the original T350 trans and 10 bolt rear end were both completely serviced. It retains its original Blue Cloth interior that has held up incredibly well and is completely original except for the newer Sony BT Stereo and speakers. It does have brand new seat belts as the previous ones would not retract properly as well as brand new power window motors. The original Rally II rims are wrapped with newer BF Goodrich Radial T/A’s that look sweet with their raised white letters. During its make-over the engine received an electronic ignition as well as a newer Edelbrock AVS2 carb and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its dual performance exhaust. Currently the heat & defrost are not working but we plan on having that looked as soon as time permits. Based on it not having the original motor or color and its present condition we would rank this as a #3 car. As such we would appraise it at $29,800.00. We are serious about finding a new home for it so if you like what you see time is of the essence!
